Highway Patrol Season 8
Highway Patrol is an Australian factual television series screened on the Seven Network that premiered on 21 September 2009. The show entered its fifth season in 2013. Highway Patrol follows members of the Victoria Police Highway Patrol as they intercept traffic and other criminal offenders on major highways in Victoria, Australia. The show depicts the police involved in high-speed police chases, attending major road accidents, confronting out-of-control drunk drivers as well as issuing lesser penalty notices to drivers. Each episode follows the progress of a select few incidents involving various Highway Patrol officers, from the first encounter by the officers through to the officers leaving the scene, with the exception that occasionally the officers will escort a driver back to a police station for the purpose of a breath or blood sample. Fines, court convictions and demerit points issued in relation to each incident are shown in a voiced-over addendum at the end. Highway Patrol is produced by Greenstone TV, makers of New Zealand’s Motorway Patrol with the co-operation of Victoria Police.

When the occupants of a car cruising past them start acting oddly, officers decide to take a closer look. But the car takes off from them and from there, the police chase develops into a manhunt.
A police officer cops one heck of a serve when he catches one of his regular offenders. Also, two tradies are unhappy to be stopped on their way to work, and an elderly motorcyclist gets pulled over.
Two bikers land in big trouble for different reasons. One lands in hospital after running into a driver doing an illegal u-turn, while the other is unlicensed, unregistered and speeding.
A driver is caught driving an unregistered vehicle, sending him into a rage against the police officers. Also, another driver is caught driving on L plates unaccompanied.
It's all very suspicious when Sergeant Ash Hodges comes across a man in a beaten up car who's leaving a crash scene. The crash wasn't the man's fault but he still seems unnaturally anxious.
A local know-it-all decides to side with a man driving like a bat out of hell in a residential area where kids are playing in parks and on bikes.
Senior Constable Dave England is first on the scene at a house fire, police pull over a man doing more than twice the speed limit on a suburban street and find a bag of drugs near his vehicle, and a probationary licence holder is found behind the wheel of a vehicle he's not allowed to be driving.
A driver in possession of a crowbar is told his vehicle will be impounded by police.
A cyclist with a strong dislike of the highway patrol refuses to wear his helmet and police find a large amount of cash inside a vehicle.
Police attempt to confirm the identity of a speeding driver when he is unable to produce a licence, a man claims police will owe him three pots of gold if they charge him with using a mobile phone while driving and police find a vehicle with a remote controlled number plate cover.
