Steven and Dr. Rossi meet at Ann's apartment to sort through her belongings. Steven reveals that he has agreed to handle Lee's defense, prompting an angry reaction from Rossi. Later, Steven bails Lee out of jail and warns him that he must act innocent since everyone in Peyton Place will be scrutinizing his behavior. Lee isn't receptive to taking orders, but ultimately complies with Steven's request. At the hospital, Miss Choate checks on Allison. Allison begs to wear the bracelet that Elliot gave her, arguing that she's only staying in hospital overnight. Miss Choate puts the bracelet on Allison's arm and leaves. Allison hears Elliot's voice in her mind, ""Je veille sur ceux que j'aime."" She puts on her street clothes and slips out of the hospital.
