WordWorld is an Emmy Award-winning children's television series partially funded by the United States Department of Education as part of the Ready to Learn literacy initiative targeted to 3- to 7-year olds. The show airs in 10 languages and 90 countries, including in the United States. The television series, created by Don Moody and Jacqueline Moody, stars Dog and his WordFriends. In each episode, Dog and/or one of his friends embarks on a series of adventures where the only way to save the day is to build or un-build words. The show's novelty is that when a word is built correctly, it morphs into the thing it represents, which gives instant meaning to the word. WordWorld has been translated into popular mobile applications, Internet-based games, magnetic plush and other toys. WordWorld currently airs in 90 countries and 10 languages. It premiered September 3, 2007 on PBS Kids and is currently in its third season, with 84 11-minute episodes. WordWorld currently broadcasts on PBS Kids it is produced for WTTW Chicago.

Episode 30 - Lost Letter L
First Aired: January. 11,2010

When Duck accidentally breaks the L off Frog's lamp, he decides not to tell Frog. Instead, he'll just fix it himself. Although Bug and Dog try to help, things spiral out of control, and soon Duck has broken a lamp, a lever and even Frog's log! Duck learns that everyone makes mistakes and admitting them sooner rather than later can make a big difference.

Episode 28 - A Star Is Born
First Aired: January. 05,2010

Duck gets a case of stage fright while singing "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" for all his WordFriends. Instead of singing the word "star," Duck freezes and blurts out the first thing he sees. With a little word building, Sheep and Ant solve Duck’s problem, and soon a "star" is born. Build A Word: STAR

Episode 25 - Snug as a Bug

Bug can’t sleep, and until he does, his favorite neighbor Frog can’t sleep either! Bug knows he has to be "snug as a bug in a..." but he can’t remember the rest of the rhyme. So Frog and Bug head off on a nighttime hunt of words that rhyme with "bug"—and wake up half their WordFriends in the process! Build a Word: RUG

Episode 24 - Sh Sh Shark
First Aired: December. 29,2009

Shark is misunderstood. Everyone is afraid of him and won’t even give him a chance to prove he’s friendly. Everyone but Duck, that is, who doesn’t know that the letters S and H together make the ‘sh’ sound and, therefore, doesn’t know who Shark is. When Duck introduces his new WordFriend to the gang, Duck learns a lesson about the ‘sh’ sound, while everyone else learns that acceptance is an important part of friendship. Build a Word: SHOE

Episode 16 - You Can Never Have Too Many OO's
First Aired: July. 14,2009

When the two letter O's in Monkey's roof blow away in the wind, it's up to Duck to hunt down the /oo/ sound and fix the roof before it rains. With Kangaroo's help, Duck saves the day...and learns you can never have too many "oo"s.

Episode 15 - Duck at Bat
First Aired: July. 14,2009

Duck loses the letter B to his baseball bat just before the big game is supposed to start. He tries to build other words to hit the ball--MAT, HAT—but soon learns that you need the right letter with the right sound to build the right word...and hit a homer!

Episode 14 - Shark's First Loose Tooth

When Shark loses his first baby tooth at a sleepover party with Duck, he’s got to get to sleep fast so the tooth fairy can come and leave him a present. But there’s just one problem—he can’t fall asleep! With the help of his good friend Duck and the letter P, Shark finally finds just the word he needs to help him fall asleep.

Episode 13 - Shark's First Day of School

It's the first day of school for the youngest WordFriends, but Shark is afraid to go. With the help of his good buddy Duck, and some gentle encouragement from their teacher Cat, Shark's fear turns to confidence, and by day's end he's at the head of the class.

Episode 12 - Get Set for 'ET'

While sky-writing in his jet, Duck accidentally makes a cloud DRAGON! Thinking it’s a real dragon, Duck and the bugs set out to “catch” the dragon and “save” WordWorld. But how do you catch something made from clouds?

Episode 11 - Duck's Piano Lesson

When Bug, Bee and Fly keep interrupting Duck’s piano lesson, Duck learns that some things are worth waiting for. He also learns that when a word has lots of sounds in it, you can build it sound by sound.

When Ant gets sick, Pig tries to take care of him by making his special Get-Well-Soon Soup. It has all the letters in the alphabet in it, so Pig can build any word that Ant needs to feel better. Pig just has to figure out what that word is!

When Ant comes over to Pig's house to eat cookies, Pig tries to get him to drink some milk. But Ant doesn't like milk! Or so he thinks...

Episode 8 - Duck's Hiccups

When Duck drinks down a glass of water too quickly, he gets the hiccups for the first time ever! His WordFriends try every trick in the book to help him, but which cure will work?

Episode 7 - A-A-choo!

Pig is allergic to peaches! Too bad Sheep doesn't know that! When she brings Pig a big bag of peaches to make pies, Pig starts sneezing so much that he can't even tell Sheep what he really needs is a...a...apples. Sheep tries to guess what Pig needs, imagining a silly array of a-sounding words!

Episode 6 - Sheep's First Bike Ride

Bear and Sheep both learn to build the word "bike," and Sheep learns how to ride one for the first time in her life. In both cases, it just takes some perseverance.

When Duck accidentally crashes into Spider’s web and breaks it apart into letters, he has to go about finding the letters to fix it. But he doesn’t know what letters are in the word ‘web’! With Elephant’s help, he learns that sometimes if you can sound out a word, you can figure out what letters you need to build it.

When Sheep decides she wants to make a special Valentine song for her pal Bear, she has runs into trouble finding just the right rhyme to finish her song. With the help of Fly, she discovers the perfect rhyme and makes Bear a Valentine song with real heart.

Episode 1 - Love, Bug

Bug wants to sign a valentine for his favorite WordFriend, but he doesn't know how to write his name. With lots of encouragement from Frog he learns that with a little practice he can write his name and give his valentine.
