The duo are horrified when an ex-copper that they know from their past moves into the flat below them. Maurice does everything he can to keep the man away from his daughter who doesn't know anything about her father's criminal activities.
Maurice is concerned when the chairman of the local golf club befriends Barbara and takes an interest in one of her bracelets. Syd, meanwhile, thinks about rekindling a romance with an old flame.
Maurice decides to try and crack the one safe that he could never open, ignoring warnings of a curse on the safe from Hedley and Syd.
