The film uses comedy to puncture the sanctimony surrounding this seminal event, as well spinning a more obscure yarn: the rise and demise of Slippy Jim Aplomb, the preeminent current-events bard of our time. Our two characters seize on 9/11 in polar ways: for Fogleberg, it becomes a botched opportunity to snag the journalistic limelight, while Slippy seizes the moment to convert the rage of the nation into an anthem; a chant for the bereaved.

In this Nickelodeon animated series inspired by the movie Barnyard: The Original Party Animals, Otis the cow, Pip the mouse, Duke the dog, and a host of other talking barnyard animals love to party and have fun, but their brazen ways put them constantly at risk of being discovered by the farmer and his busybody neighbor Mrs. Beady. While Mrs. Beady's visions of animals acting like people are easily explained away by her husband Nathan as crazy talk, the animals are careful to keep their escapades secret from the farmer. Whether living out their fantasies as animal superheroes, running a successful truffle pie restaurant in the barn, seeking out a romantic companion for the lonely farmer, or blasting into space, the barnyard animals can be counted upon to get into one crazy predicament after another.

Kingdom Of Women: The Matriarchal Mosuo of China
In a remote corner of southwestern China are the Mosuo, arguably the best remaining example of a matrilineal society in the world today. In this program, anthropologist Chou Wah-Shan—one of few outside scholars who have lived and worked extensively with the Mosuo—and Mosuo villagers offer insights into what life is like in the 91 communities where women rule and husbands don’t exist. Commerce, belief systems, rituals and festivals, and the day-to-day responsibilities of women and men are described, with a special focus on the concept of “walking marriage.” But tourism and technology are swiftly eroding core Mosuo customs and values. How much longer will the Mosuo way of life survive?
