Emmy Awards' Audience Ratings Dropped to The Lowest

The 70th Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony was held in Los Angeles and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel was the biggest winner. Although it was the most important drama award in American, the audience ratings of Emmy Awards this year had been to the record low.



The data showed that the average audience ratings in the US was 7.4/13 that night, which was 10% lower than last year, set a record for the worst.


In order to make way for the football game, Emmy Awards this year ceremony was moved from Sunday to Monday which was unusual, hosted by Colin Jost and Michael Che. The last Emmy Awards were held on Monday in 2014. And compared with 2014, it was dropped 32% this year.



In fact, the Emmy Awards ratings have been in a continuous decline in 2013.



With streaming media had been sprang up, American's viewing habits has been undergoing dramatic changed, more and more people are no longer watching TV. This year's Oscar awards also set a record low, and the number of viewers dropped by 19% from last year. This year's Grammy Awards plunged 24% from last year, and even the Super Bowl, which is known as the "American Spring Festival Evening", has seen its latest audience ratings hit a nearly seven-year low.
